I have seen a JD-24 witch is about the same thing with a inline 4 cylinder Ford gas engine from the factory.

The engine is a Wisconsin VG4D built by Owatona. I own and currently use one. Email me.

The Bobcat 610 used the Wisconsin VH4D engine. Perhaps the model 600 did also.

They used a Wisconsin VH4D, same as in the Case 1530, and maybe Owatonna. Need a replacement? I have one, just overhauled. If you don't need it, I STILL have it for a resonable price, but hey, that might be an ad!

The 170s that I have seen had a VG4D Wisconsin, slightly larger than a VH4D. I have one of those in the junk pile.

Brian, I owned a 170 JD skid steer, and mine did have a Wisconsin engine in it. It was the aircooled V 4 . Strong motor, but not like a diesel. I don't know if they used something other than Wisconsin, could be a retro fit. Dave...
