my great grandparents had a hammermill in the late 50's to mid 60's. It was red if memory serves us right it was a Montgomery Wards, any one remember Montgomery Wards hammermill?
Is it possible it could be a Farmall product? It was not very big but ran off the belt off the tractor. unfortunately it was sold and all we are going off of is memory.
where could We find information about it?
are they around still? it seems to be hard to find anything about them.

Thank You For Your Help

Can you tell us who made the hammermill for Montgomery Wards and do you know of any pictures of it online?

My father had a Montgomery Wards 16" belt powered hammer mill. It had several different screens. When I was growing up, I shoveled many tons of corn and oats thru it. We usually powered it with an AC WD, or an AC D17. In earlier years they ran it with a John Deere "B", which didn't really have enough power to operate it to its full capacity. The WD ran it fine, and the D17 "toyed" with it. It was sure a dusty job.

I have one in the barn. It's a Montgomery Wards hammermill. I used to run it either from my AC D-14 or the JD A. Both tractors ran it very well. I used it for oats and corn. Always worked good and it had different sized screens you use for different grains. The only bad thing about those hammermills is they are awful dusty. When we finished we looked like snowmen. It has a bagger below the cyclone for filling burlap sacks. Noisy and dusty is the only downfall about these hammermills, especially inside of a building.

Yep, I had a Montgomery Ward Hammer Mill, red in color, had the extra screens for it, and it had the bagger hopper on it. Finally found someone who wanted it, as I had no need for it, but as a youngun, I shoveled a lot of corn, and some hay slices into that Hammer Mill. third party image

Are you interested in one to have? I know where there is/was one that was converted and on wheels. It hitches up to the drawbar and thre is a PTO shaft that runs it. Where are you located at? This one is a Montgomery Ward but I have other informaiton on it.
