I HAVE A 1932 PONTIAC. THE GAS DOSEN'T SEEM TO GET TO THE HEAD TO FIRE. I CHECKED TOE UPDRAFT AND IT SEEMS OK I CAN;T FIND ANY LEAKS. WHAT CAUSES THE GAS TO SPRAY THROUGH THE JETS INSIDE THE CARB. I REPLACED THS POINTS, CONDENSOE, COIL AND PLUGS. I'M STOMPED CAN YOY HELP OR DO UOU KNOW ANYONE WHO CAN.

Bob, that early a carb did not have an accelerator pump, to get them started one usually had to use the choke. How is the compression? If it is really low it may not be pulling enough air to draw fuel into the manifold. Or the valves could be getting weak. Gas was drawn from the carburetor bowl through the metering jets in the venturi by air moving through the venturi, in other words, vacuum. You're sure the carb is not plugged up? Have seen old engines so worn that it took a squirt of oil in each cylinder to create enough pressure for them to fire off. John in Nebr.

MY DAD HAS A 1932 PONTIAC,IT HAS A MARVEL CARB [ UPDRAFT ] AND WE ARE LOOKING FOR A CARB KIT OR SOME REAL SMART ON REBUILDING THEM.
