Bolens-Iseki 30 HP

I'm considering trading for a Bolens-Iseki diesel 30 HP 4WD with a loader from the early 80's. I was told it has an isuzu engine but I don't know the model number off hand. Can anyone let me know what their reputation is and/or some of the problems you can foresee. Also, what's a fair price range. Thanks, Jeff

I have a Bolens G212. It is a good tractor for a compact, and I have used the fire out of it. The only real draw back to the Bolens is the part availibility as well as the price. There are still some dealers, such as Rainbow located in Hawiia. The motor I believe Is an Iseki.

i had a 1984 bolens-iseki model G214. great LITTLE tractor for around the home. not for any serious farm work. did not have much trouble with it. the reason i sold mine is because it was getting hard to find a parts dealer. had to order EVERYTHING and then wait for shipment. even the parts dealer did not have a parts book. just lucky i had one.

Hello,

I was a mechanic for a Bolens dealer at that time, and I set up some tractors like that one. I don't know of any problems, we didn't get any for repair. I guess that is good. You might find some of the attachments have some odd fasteners, it isn't because they were lost, but because Bolens didn't include the proper washers, etc for attaching accessories on anything in their line of equipment.

I don't think I would consider a Bolens diesel. They were good tractors but everybody I know that had one got rid of them,& for short money too because parts is a real issue. Gardenway had some stuff for them but when they sold out to mtd my dealer told me they threw away all the diesel and tube frame parts. He told me they are no longer available. Ther might be someone out there with nos parts though.

I can supply new & used parts & manuals for most most models of Japanese tractors including Bolens/Iseki.I'd also be interested in buying Japanese tractors for salvage.

looking for a used isuzu 25hp 2AB1-517847, 73D12012, 1.184L, or parts to rebuild the one i have, need standard rings, bearings 20over, gasket set, would like to replace the water pump and the oil pump while i have it apart. thanks jim
