Headin' to the field to try and recover 40 some acres of alfalfa that has been on the ground since as I recall, sometime before the civil war.

Yesterday morning it was to rubbery/green; at 2pm, too darned dry to bale.

Gonna oil the baler chains and it's coming up this morning, no matter what. :>(

9:30 and I'm back in for a pancake and a cup of coffee. Then back out to tackle the rest of that wheat that I've got cut and maybe still get the alfalfa bales moved off yet today.

Don't know what kind of feed I'm gonna end up with, but at least there is some tonnage there. Darned bales off the alfalfa this morning have a noticable darkish green color to 'em. :>(

You could have ours for a day or two, but I'm afraid there's about 3000 miles between here and there. Hope they wern't too wet.

Allan....on questionable quality hay, I used to inject the bales with molasses. When you're short on feed, it's a good way to salvage what you got fairly cheap.

Early birds still do get the worms. I'd bale that stuff no matter what the conditions cause the second crop has to be coming on behind with the rain you've had. Then get the 1066 and the plow and make some smoke. Shoot by noon you will be ready to tear up the wheat ground and plant beans or some second crop and by 9 p.m. you'll have the bales all hauled home and into a windbreak and all you're winter feed in place. Then tear into the Hydro 70 and get those new rings and bearings in there and by daylight you can take a leisure ride on the horses. Makes me tired just thinking about chasing you around for a day. You never talk about stopping for meals or snacks. Do you carry a I.V. bottle with ya or what? Migraine
