what are some tires you would recommend for a 1 ton dually? I bought bridgestone duelers less than a year ago and theres not much left of them now. I talked to a guy and he told me theyre not good for really heavy trucks. thanks for your help

Tough to beat Cooper for price and quality. As with any tire the most important thing is to match the right tire for the job and budget. Steeltex A/t by Firestone was a killer tire that would sell itself if I could get it on once. But they quit making it. Today I put a Uniroyal Laredo on a truck about like yours. It was a HD so hopefully I did the right thing. The price was right.

Michelins... Expensive, but good treadlife, great traction. Locally made, too...

Firestone steeltex lasted 45,000 miles (factory tire) on my 2003 silverado 2500 diesel. Traction was poor to horrible, especially the last 10k! Replacements are Goodyear Wranglers. They have 20K on them and are nearing bald. They have been rotated 2 times and are due for the 3rd and final. They have no hope of lasting till a 4th rotation.

I have heard good things of the BFG's, especially the AT's. Will probably get them next spring after my ONE Goodyear of use from the current tires is up. I won't get goodyears ever again for a heavy truck. Pure Junk. They have been good on my wife's car.

Some tires have less traction, especially when cold, but I don't know which. I bought some from Pep Boys, which I think was their own brand which had poor traction, fortunately they didn't lost long either. Cooper has been a good balance of price, long life, and traction.

Goodyears.

Tire pressure is critical loaded vs unloaded.
