Curious - what kind of mileage do you get with your 454? We've got a '90 GM dually with the same engine: I get around 11 mpg empty, and between 8 and 9 when hauling.

I"m not to sure what it gets when it not hauling a loaded trailer, because it never happens. lol But I am getting around 7-8 mpg. Is anyone having the problem of 454 motor being hard starting after it is hot. It only does it when its hot and I have to crank and Crank and finally it will start and puff out the most rich colud of smoke. I have been told to change the fule pressure reguator. I still need to do that. But I was just courios is it that happens to others.

Your truck will weigh in at around 6,500# plus or minus. Your owners manual will tell you how much it can pull.
