Called a guy yesteday to replace my wooden floor in my 16 foot flatbed. He quoted me $100 labor + cost of material. That seems like a real good price. Was wondering how much lumber prices are running now as I haven't priced in a while. Anyone know how much more a steel floor would cost?

Last price I heard for steel was one dollar a pound at Alro. If the treadplate is too think they might not be able to cut it, it would need to be cut with a torch. If it needs to be cut that's extra. You can ask weight, price, delivery and find a location near you at Link I had good luck with treated 2 by 12's at Menards, and put it in myself. The added weight of the treadplate will reduce your cargo capacity.

I would go with treated tongue and grooved boards. They will lay flatter than the wider 2x's and won't cup on you.

I just replaced the wood floor on my 14' flatbed. Required 7 2"x12"x14' treated boards. Cost was about $20/board at Menards. $100 labor cost is pretty good, It took my wife and I the better part of a morning. We just carriage bolted it to the steel frame.

No idea what a steel floor would cost. Not cheap is my guess.
