Looking for a trailer

I am in the market for a 14k 20' +/- trailer with 5' beavertail and ramps. I would like to find a good used one to save a few bucks. Does anyone have any brands that I should absolutely steer clear of? I am going to be looking at a 2000 diamond brand trailer this weekend. I am also aware of a 2005 Chaparral that is available in our area also. Anything on those brands that I should be concerned about?

Thanks for any help.

Gary

I have been looking for a low boy gooseneck for 2 years used and everything I find is within 1000 of what I could buy a new one for.
We have been running 2 appalatian MFG trailers that are 20' with a 4'beaver tail. We use them to haul scrap metal and hav not had one problem with them in 3 years. They ran right at 3000 each. They are rated at 14000 lbs and I know we have overloade the one on occasion.

I rebuilt one last year, everything but the gooseneck and axles were scrapped.
It cost about $3,500.00 +/- so buying one is probably not a bad option.
I would be broke if I had to pay to have it rebuilt.
On the plus side it has everything I want 1 3/4" white oak floor and twin 5,000 LB axles both with electric brakes.
They sure beat the bumper pull trailers.
Regards
Brian

I have looked at many different brands. I think the Moritz is the best for the money. They are made in Mansfield Ohio

Pretty sure that topic has been covered on this forum. Take a peek at the previous pages. And I think those Chaparral trailers were mentioned. Good luck in your search.
