I have broken rings. Cannot figure out how to remove the generator from the engine. Any help anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Sheldon,
Depending on the brand, there is a long bolt that goes through the rotor, into the crankshaft. The crankshaft is probably tapered,so it may be a pill to seperate.Unscrew the bolt all the way out.
Screw bolt in,then back out a couple of turns.
Rap end of bolt with soft hammer, this will generally unseat the taper.I have done this on many a generator with no problems. Good luck.
