Propane or MAPP torch ??

At an auction i bought a MAPP cannister with a torch attached. the torch is a Craftsman, with a couple of patent numbers, but no model number. Recently I bought a new benz-o-matic self-igniting torch, and the instructions say to ONLY use propane.

My questions: Is my auction torch dangerous to use with MAPP? How can I tell if it is designed for MAPP vs propane?

If your talking about the one like the burnz-a matic torch. and the little yellow mapp tank they sell in the hardware stores, you can use eather one. I use the mapp because the flame is hotter and I can braze thin metal with it. Rusty nuts get red hot a little quicker.
