I am on the hunt for a portable air compressor, but here is the story. My wife was understanding enough to see the intelligence in buying an Oliver Super 55 this year. I want to restore it eventually, but first I have to do some building. You know how it goes, buy the tractor then do some work from the job jar. Well the thing is, first I am going to build a new outbuilding which will have a new laundry room, pumphouse, bath, and studio. So, I need one to run a framing nail gun. Then, when I build my new shop, (next year) I want to use the compressor to run an impact wrench, pneumatic ratchet, drill, sander, etc. My quesiton is would a 4.5 horsepower with a 20 gal. tank be big enough for the job.

Sure, that should do just fine. If you buy a manifold for the compressor(it goes on to the fitting where you would put the hose and has 2 or more outlets to allow you to connect 2 or more things to the same compressor at once)make sure you dont use all your tools at once. (i.e.dont run an air drill at the same time as you are using an air grinder and an impact wrench) or too much air pressure would be lost.
