I took the motor out of my Remington chainsaw, and am planning on mounting on a bike, for power assist. It has a walbro carb, which has two line hook-ups. a white one, and a black one. On of the tubes puts pressure into the gas tank, and the other recieves gas. Can someone tell me which is which?

WALBRO (MDC-15) CARB
===== ===== ===== ==

Can anyone with personal knowledge help with set-up, and spares availability for this Carb please.

It will fire, and run for approx 5 to 10 secs if raw fuel mixture is first applied to the carb intake.

I therefore suspect prop with the fuel pump section, and/or the fuel metering section.

However, I have replaced the pump diaphram, and the metering diaphram, plus the two gasket.

What is behind the 7/16" Welsh Plug??? Could that be the problem area.

Original problem was the carb had not been used for approx 12 years :-) :-)

Have also replace the metering spring with a new item.

Have not taken out the 7/16" Welsh Plug YET.....As I do not seem to be able to get one to replace it.

Any help.....Manual....etc....Greatly appreciated.

I have just been given a woodsplitter with a tecumseh motor on it. I'm pretty sure it has a Walbro carb. on it because it looks just like the one on my Sears rototiller and it is a Walbro for sure. I did see a number on a flat spot that read #773. Like I said I just got it today and for the life of me I can't get this thing regulated. I think I screwed that needle valve in the bowl just about every position imaginable and it still won't run. Where do you think I should start? Maybe a new carb?.... Thanx, Tony

Hi Eric from Fred It runs in my mind that the inlet side has a filter in it and the other side has a diaphram for pushing the fuel. If you took one side off, you would be clued by looking. Bare in mind that I don't think I've taken this particular carburator apart but logic tells me this. Doesn't scavenging of the cylinder work the diaphram? Another way is to trace the plastic fuel lines. Fred from the Mung Factory
