: : : : : I'm at work and the tools are at home. I can't remember the brand name. My grandfather bought me a 1/2 drive socket set w/ ratchet and breaking bar. He also bought me a combination open-end/box-end wrench set. He bought these tools from the Big Blue sotre in Greenfield, Indiana. I have had these tools for close to 20 years now. I haven't broken a single one. I've lost a few though. Does anyone know the name brand of this tool? If you guys aren't familiar with big Blue, they're about the same thing as Farm & Fleet or TSC. : : : : LOST ??? LOST ??? Do I detect the possibility of less than perfect organizational habits ? I thought I was the only one that lost things. :-) : : : Well, they're not really lost. I just don't know where they are. : : The correct terminology is "momentarily misplaced" or "temporarily unavailable," not "lost." Example: the brand-new Craftsman hammer I took with me when I moved into an apartment to continue some schooling back in the mid-1980s. I saw the hammer when I packed it for the move, then never saw it again until I was moving out two years later -- at which time I packed it again. Now, 10 years later, I have yet to find it. But I know it's in a box somewhere -- temporarily unavailable, not lost. : I thought the term was: "Location impaired". Over the years I've managed to hang onto a very large percentage of my tools, at least in the long term. In the short term I'm not sure where half of them are at any given time. Particularly if I had it in my hand two minutes ago. There are some real four-legged packrats in my barn (other than the big two-legged one), but most of the tools are too heavy for them to get blamed for taking. They have stolen nuts and bolts though. One of my many former careers was "shoe cobbler", I therefore always blame elves. The little beggers sneak in at night, carry stuff in and hide things. ;-)
