You guys are great! I have been ripped off so many times by local mechanics and really appreciate your help. Now I basically have an ideal of what is wrong. Thanks again for a great site.

Debbie, there is also a site (URL below) which is specific to Ford Rangers (your Bronco is pretty much the same thing as a Ranger) with some real knowledgeable folks. They have an entire message board just for the 2.9 L engine. They might be more help. A warning, though, some of the folks there are a little "coarser" than the guys here, and there is a little more testosterone poisoning evident there. But if you can weed thru it, they are quite helpful. Good luck. I have the same engine on my Ranger, but my daughter has been borrowing it for the past two months and I can't get at it to look at what might be your problem.
