I'm looking for info re the piston position in an old gravely, somehow the repair shop has put the piston 90 degrees out of place and since I took it apart 3 months ago I havent a clue in which position th piston goes in, theres a notch on the piston but i'm not sure towards the front or rear, and also theres an expantion cut in the piston, is this intake or exhaust??? would realy appreciate any info, thanks , stu [email protected]

I'm sure its wrong the connecting rod is lets say east /west and the piston is inserted north /south, which adds to my total confusion!! there is a slot on the skirt of the piston, i'm at a loss if it goes on the intake or ex side, i have the old piston here and there are no indication, you see the fellow scraped the carbon ect off so i really dont know..I did ask him to set it up so that I would'nt have to think!! maybe next year!!
Thanks for the input , all the best.
