I'm going to make a metal lathe about 24" between centers and 6" swing. Are there any sites out there that show plans without asking you to buy them? I found the Linsey sites but think I can do it with out buying a book. Advice is also welcome.
Thanks.

You might find a used Atlas cheaper than you can build one. Atlas made a 36" x 6" swing many years ago. I just gave a 36"x 6" Atlas to my brother in Florida. It was my Grandads and I know my brother would not sell it. Atlas was bought out by Clausing. You still see some of the Atlas around and can still find parts for them.
