It appears that the clutch went out all at once in my Farmall Model B. One it was working....the next day I can't get into any gear. I have adjusted all that I can but no improvement just hard grinding when attempting to engage gear. The tractor has been in my family for as long as I can remember and the clutch has never been changed that I know of. I knew that the clutch was getting thin but I didn't think it would go out all at once. A glance through the inspection hole reveal nothing.
Any ideas for this novice would be appreciated. I will begin the process of replacing clutch and pressure plate soon but if anyone could give me some hints on potential problems or suggestions for a smoother job please let me know. I have changed a few clutches but never in a tractor.

Lester seems kind of odd that it didnt show any signs of slipping before it stopped. You mentioned that it ran fine one day and didnt run the next. Did the tractor sit for a while before ruuning it the second time? The only reason I ask is because I got a Farmall A that had been sitting for a while. I was told the clutch was bad. It did the same thing yours is doing, when I got it all apart the clutch disc was rusted fast to the pressure plate. It took quite a bit of work to break the two free. As far as replacing it I used a automotive engine hoist to split the tractor. Support the bellhousing from the bottom. Then use the engine stand to support the engine and front bolster. Be real careful these pieces are quite heavy, have a friend available to help. Post your question on the Farmall Board you may get some other suggestions.
