Anyone ever heard of dry-ice blasting? Saw a contractor's trailer that advertised it. I'd never heard of it before. Just curious.

Yes, seen it used to clean weld flash and dust from automation and robots in a Ford Motor Co. assembly plant where they weld the body (bodyshop)

I work in a nuke plant where a great deal of decontamination of tools and equipment is done on a regular basis. The laborers doing most of this work use dry ice blasting as a high production technique. It`s very impressive. I`ve seen it remove paint and oil from even soft metals like aluminum, with no damage to the item being cleaned, and in our case, it doesn`t generate any additional radioactive waste. It even works well on light rust.

I have a dry ice blasting company in alberta. The process works very well at removing process contaminants. Works on removing pitch (glue and wood prodocts in wood processing plants), cleaning tube sheet welds and other welds prior to Non Destructive testing, preparing process equipment prior to bolt up after plant turn arounds (to remove bio films and rust plooms). The equipment is very portable and can be set up at the location of equipment that is being cleaned.
