Anybody on this bulletin board ever buy a portable building? The ones with the metal frame and heavy duty tarp. Any good or bad experiences? I am planning to get one to cover up my Oliver Super55 until my new shop gets built (sometime in the next millineum) I was thinking of a 10' X 12' size. I still want to work on it.

I have a 12 x 16 "Cover-it". I am third owner so they are portable and durable. Actually managed to land a six inch diameter tree on it without damage. I have seen some other brands that do not have the cover attached as nice and tight. Mine is over 4 years old with the fabric in good shape. For the money I would recommend the "Cover-it" brand and say thay are worth what they are made for.

Glad to hear your positive input, Ted. It will help me endure the beating I'm going to get when the wife finds out! (Only kidding - she doesn't understand - she'd have to be a man - but she is very tolerant of my new hobby, so far)

...and then I just ordered a 12'x20'x10' Coverite with heavy duty fabric, fancy door. Needed the height to get the "M" in without scorching the roof, With shipping, it came to $1,100. Ouch. Guess I'll keep my day job a while longer..... ...
(It hasn't come yet, there is a 4-6 week delivery) I'll be putting it up in the snow.

I bought a 10x20 steel pole, fabric covered,"building" from Sam's club this spring on sale for about $150.bought the garage kit separatly for a total for both, of about$200.(basically a steel framed four sided tent, with a zip up garage door.)Plenty of room inside, about 10' center height. You could'nt scab something together that cheap.Has withstood 65mph winds so far.
