I want to find out the HP of a 1944 Farmall H. What is meant by Draw Bar HP, Belt HP, etc.? All I want to know is the engine HP.

THe belt hp is(was) taken at the implement belt drive (usually right behind the clutch) and is closer to what you might think of in terms of "engine" or "flywheel" hp. But since tractors today don't have belt drives anymore, and drawbar hp can be dramatically different between similar tractors with different weight ratings, the PTO hp is a more standardized way of comparing apples to apples.

25.5 drawbar h.p., 27.9 belt h.p. If you hook a implement to the drawbar, thats how maney ponies the engine transfers to the rearend of your tractor for pulling. Most of your new tractors nowdays are rated as pto h.p., because the work today is with alot of pto equipment.
