Drill Bits- What to buy?

I had bought a set of Titanium drill bits at Home Depot for $20.00 and they lasted about 6 months. About half of them are broken now with a son who only knows full speed or stopped and a temper to match.
At the loacl state fair I saw a company demo a set of drill bits that had a titanium/diamond/?? insert that they showed drilling through everything you could image plus the kitchen sink. The company name was Rodman out of California. They even showed the shank flexing quite a bit. They wanted $75 for the set that went up to 1/2 inch. I thought that they would be good because they seem to handle the heat well and it was less likely that my son would break them or me for that matter. Note that I do not an extra $75 around just to buy drill bits or even $20 to replace the last set that got broken and dulled.
What do you each of you recommend for drill bits? Do you try to resharpen the drill bits yourself and what do you use to do that?

This is about a year after the first post but... I bought a set of the Rodman bits with a lifetime gaurantee. They do drill through just about anything(no soft stuff like aluminum though). This morning I was drilling through a grade 3 bolt and the end of the bit(3/8) shattered. I'm quite shocked. I'm going to mail the bit back to the manufacturer to see if they honor their gaurantee. I'll let this post know if they don't.

Marvin,
My company sells a line of drill bits made by a Minnesota company. One particular type called the magnum super premium is gauranteed against breakage on the bits 3/8" and below. We replace those free if they break off. They can be seen on our site at usalloysweldtech .com or you may call 800-325-1568 for pricing and info. You might ask for Tim McCarthy. He's quite knowledgeable about the drills.

I bought a set from Harbor Freight (again I have no connection) but seem to work well and be quite durable for the money. Like $50 for a complete set.

I like the Harbor Freight, High speed, black oxide finish 1/16 to 1/2 inch, 29 piece set, with 3/8 shanks on the 3/8 thru 1/2 inch sizes, when they are on sale for $9.99. Also the standard size shank for $9.99 if you do not need the 3/8 shanks, are now at that price. Yes, I resharpen everything. If you are breaking them you are doing something wrong. Hope this helps, have fun, bentorbroke

On the subject of drill bits; If you have very many dull drill bits you can get them resharpened. Visit our website at http://pages.zdnet.com/hileahdrill/hileahdrillservice for more information
