I ordered an entire sandblasting and paint spraying setup (conventional) from Michigan Industrial. The fellow I talked to (Scott), really seems to know his stuff Link

I>Link should be receiving everything this week, so I cannot comment on the quality, but the price was very reasonable. For $221 I'm getting a 100lb pressure-pot blaster, with water filter and guage, blast hose & gun, 4 extra nozzles, and a protective hood. They make the units in Michigan.

This is $100-$200 less than similar units from T.I.P. or Eastwood. By the way, go to the T.I.P. site and request a catalog- very informative re all compressed air related topics (e.g. blasting, painting, etc). Excellent information, but prices seem kinda high.

I gave up on Harbor Freight. I requested a catlog twice online, and tried to call to get one, and the line was always busy. I still don't have their catalog.

Most HVLP systmes use a special high volume compressor. T.I.P. sells a special HVLP gun that will work with a moderatley sized compressor. I ordered a conventional spray gun from Michigan Industrial, which is an asian knock off of a DeVilbiss. The sales guy swears by these guns, and says they use them in their factory. They even will take standard DeVilbiss rebuild parts. $54 as opposed to $150 for the real thing.

I'll let you know how all this stuff performs when I get it this week.

If you have a big enough compressor, get a "pressurized" sandblaster. I got mine from Eastwood, competitive price, www.eastwoodcompany.com
