The line on this weedeater feeds out without tapping the head on the ground. It feeds at all speeds, fast and slow. The only parts I remove to clean are the spool itself and its big plastic nut. I have not removed the circlip on the shaft so those parts are still in place. Have I lost some other parts that go underneath the spool ??? Or am I missing something else. Thanks for your help. Jim - in the other Washington.

There should be a spring in there, that fits onto the plastic nut, which pushes the nut back down after you tap the ground.

Eliminate the spool and the fishing line all together! Send a blank eMail message to: [email protected] for instant and free info re: the trimmer head that eats WEEDS instead of string.

The part that should turn to cause the cord to turn and cut is frozen up and even when the engine is going, it will not turn and cut. Our engine is still good and we are interested in replacing this head if it is not too expensive to do so. We really like to use this particular weedeater since it handles well. I must say because we are on the farm, we are sometimes using it in wet conditions around ditches and such. We believe this moisture to be our problem causing the rusting some parts. We have tried to grease it, but without success. We would appreciate your reply. Model # 750r

Yes, moisture is one of the problems causing wrap-up string trimmer head trouble but the overall cause is the skinny fishing line grade and formula material. When you switch over to a Weed Whip replacement head, you will enjoy a big improvement in the performance of your trimmer because it is like turbo charging your unit. In order for a trimmer to do what it is capable of-- you must use 4 cutting tips of 3mm or thicker line designed specifically for landscaping AND IT WILL NOT WRAP ON A SPOOL! We convert terrible, tormenting toys into serious landscaping tools and you can do the same. Go to> www.weedwhip.com for the details or feel free to contact us by eMail.
