Mark Take about 10 to 12 ft of line and fold it
in the middle. there is a slot in the head of the trimmer so place the center of the line in this slot and wind half the line on one side and half on the other. Its not necessary to cut or tie the line. Hope this helps

Hey Mark,Throw all that weed eater line away, and go down to your local hardware,or mower shop and buy you a pack of weed tigers
and use them in your weed eater, and you'll never have to wind another head, they work real good,on grass weeds an briars ,they really work well..good luck Carl

It depends on what make the weedeater is....but most follow the basic principle. Reel off about 10 or 12 feet....then fold it to find the middle...and cut it so you have two fairly equal lengths. Now...look at the hub that holds the string and it will probably have an arrow showing you which way to wind the string. Just attach it to the hub, probably by sliding the string into a small hole or slot...then start winding. The only thing to remember here is to NOT let the strings cross over each other. Thats why the reel has two levels. If you cross them....it won't feed the string out. Keep windin' till its all on the reel....then reassemble.....then come to my house and weedeat my yard so we can tell you did it right. You probably will have to do my entire yard before we can be sure!!!

Mine , all you do is take a long line, maybe 10 feet, fold it in two, fasten it to the head , ususally a screw, or a loop, wind both ends around to the right until almost all the line is in the head and then put one line out the 1 side continue the other until the other side reaches the other side and out . Good luck.
