I have recently been looking through Craftsman USA catalog's and have wanted to buy some of their tools, but being a canadian citizen these tools can't be shipped to me. Has anyone encountered this problem and if so how did you get around it?

I have a craftsman 18.5 hp garden tractor and I am having problems getting a good cut with it. I have to re-cut in several directions to get my grass to look half decent. It has mulching blades on it now. I can't find straight blades for it.
It seems like the air flow under the deck is pushing the grass out of the way and then it stands back up after I pass leaving a very poor cut. Any sugestions?

I used to go over to thier catologue order desk, order the tools, and pick them up when they came in. BUT, if you want any of these tools replaced, you have to do it in the states, Sears Canada does not honour the warranty. Stay away from the Snap-on look-a-like ratchets. The selector knob is just plastic. The first time I used mine, off it broke, and there I go over the river, wasting more time and fuel than it's worth. I find, with today's exchange rate, it's cheaper for me to buy Proto or Snap-on right here in Canada. If I need a Snap-on tool replaced, I pick up the phone and my dealer with ship within the next day. That's worth the extra you pay for quality tools. Oh ya, don't get caught at the border bring them back either, 15% taxes, plus duty!. Bill

NO, and niether one will honour eachother's warranty. Sears Roebuck in the states has such a wider selection first of all, and for electrical tools our CSA standards are higher, so the tools aren't the same. The ratchets are different, but you might be able to get away trading off some common sockets or screwdrivers. The worst thing I've ever bought over there is 1/2" drive deep impact sockets, they're always cracking, and it's about an hour trip each way, plus border interogation. Bill.
