Hey boys and girls ! I borrowed a 3 point post hole auger from my boss, it came with the house he bought so we don't know beans about it ! Is there different augers you can buy to do different types of holes ?, I looked in my C.T. catalog and they offer several different replacement augers,-single-flight auger, double-auger, they both come with points and cutting edges. I think my auger is worn out from years of use, it's tapered from about 8" at the top down to 3" at the bottom, and has no place to put on new cutting edges ( which C.T. also sells ) I don't know beans about this thing so any and all help would be appreiciated !!!!! !

Dave, sounds like the auger is just worn out, must have been a lot of rocks or a lot of years use. Recommend replacing with an auger just a little bit bigger than the biggest post you'll be putting in. Most come as 6" or 8" diameter but you can get them bigger.
Also be very careful using an auger, don't allow anyone to stand near the auger when you use it, and the operator needs to stay seated on the tractor. Be safe and have fun.
