Has anyone ever built a log cabin or anything else out of logs? I am trying to put together a small cabin on my other farm and the most time consuming task so far has been shaping the logs. What is the best tool to use to shape or notch the logs? Any help or any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased one of those round chainsaw blades that fits on a small hand held grinder. cost of about 125. seems as if it would work well on your application.

Chainsaw. Should be able to find a book at library or bookstore that outlines the procedure for scribing logs and cutting notches.
