Here in Indianapolis, you can get a 17 inch curve shaft for $67.99 at Furrow or $69.99 at Kmart. Has a motor over 30cc. Also Furrow has the 18 inch chainsaw for $149.99 including the case with a good size motor on it.

Anybody have good or bad experiences with this name? Someone else may be manufacturing it since there has been a lot of consolidation in this industry.

OK. Help.
I have an Homelite 350 since new. Took it to a "saw shop" in another county to get it tuned up. Since I got it back it ran poorly and the auto-lube chain oiler isn't oiling. Finally tore it completely down and did the job myself. Runs great now, but still no oil.
Everything in the pump looks good. All passages are clear. All new oil lines. No gall marks, no scoring etc on the pump parts. O-rings look good & are pliable. Got a schematic from the lawnmower shop [yes, no saw shops here], and it looks like all the parts are there.
I see the pump is directly in the crankcase. It looks like some sort of rotary pump, but does it work off crankcase pressure? First time I've seen this kind. Does it have to be timed to the crank? Somebody please help!
Thanks much

I have a Homelite SX-135 Weedeater trimmer. The Shaft evidently has broken, as the spool with the line spins freely. Does anyone know if this is repairable or not? Or would I be better off buying a new one? Also if it can be repaired, where can I get parts for it?
Thanks

Have you removed the shaft from the motor? Check that it has not slipped out of the engine drive sleeve. I have both straight & curved shafts available.

I have a Homelite curved shaft weedeater. The end towards the ground is broken where the nut shreads into the end and I want to purchase another piece that attaches to the motor and extends out to the end of the shaft. When I went back to the place that sold me the Homelite, they no longer carry Homelite products, and not any replacement parts either. How do I order this part? Thanks.

Hi! I'm Bill...

What Model Trimmer do you have? It would be best to also have the UT# and Serial #. Describe what you need and I'll do my best to get you what you need.

I purchased a weedeater for my husband for his birthday a few years ago. His Birthday is Aug. 26, so he did not get to use the weed eater that year. But there was something missing from the pkg. In which I returned it and they gave me what I needed from another box. Well he got to use it a few time and that was the end of that. The thing was on sale for $150.00. That's alot for a few trims. I tried to return it but that was to no use. So it sits in our shed. Is ther anything you can do to help. I did sent in the infor. from the postcard that was in the box. It is an electric start, but it just does'nt work. We just conect on line a couple of months ago and I thought I would try to see if you had an email address that I could contact you with my concern. (It's funny when you buy something they give you all the promise's that everything will be covered if it does'nt work. But the box it came in was all messed up so we got rid of it but without the box you can't return it either) Thanks for listen to me.

Disconnect the shaft from the engine and see if the shaft is free or restricted.
Have you checked the fuel lines for possible air leaks?

HOMELITE has had 3 different oils they have recommended. The old 16:1 has been discontinued and the 32:1 and EXACTMIX 50:1 in the squeeze-up bottle.
Either will work, but you have to be more careful of the exact amount with the higher ratio mix as any error is almost double = Trouble.
Also to avoid having old stale fuel mix, make the smallest amount you will use in less than a month. Bill Walcott

HOMELITE has 2 different mixes...32:1 and 50:1. Just be very careful when measuring the 50:1 as any error in measurement will be almost doubled. The SXL would be safer with the 32:1

I am trying to find new condition 925 XL (Homelite) chainsaws for my father. He is a 3rd generation logger in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. As his retirement is close at hand, he wants to finsh up his life's work with the the the same saw he has used for many years. This saw is not manufactured anymore. Do you know anywhere I might be able to find two or three 925 XLs ? Thanks for your help , and may God bless you today.

I thought about purchasing the Homelite with saw blade attachment to make short work of it, ha! I have two weeks to get this ready for my horses. Yikes. The model that WalMart carries doesn't have a strap for convenience like other brands, and isn't the heavy duty model. What model do I need to buy for this job that would make it easy to carry. I'm not a big gal. Thanks.

Do you know how to take the batt pack off, do you have some knowlegde of DC electric circuits and can you solder a little? If so, take the battery pack off and go to your local hobby shop and buy (I think there are 4 cells in there)replacement C-cells (NiCad type)and replace them yourself. Or you can buy a 1800 mah 6 cell pack on Ebay for $8. If you have any questions email me.

I have a Homelite ST-175G string trimmer and I am having a hard time starting it and once it start it doesn't remain running for long. The two rubber tubes that run fron the fuel tank to the carburetor are rotten and broken and it leaks fuel. Do you think this is the problem and where can i purchase those rubber hoses in Austin,Texas?

Please Help! Thank You, Juan Paiz

The proper mix for the SX-135 Bandit is 32-1. If you go to Homelite.com and request it they will send you a copy of the manual for your trimmer.

HOMELITE has 2 different mixes...32:1 and 50:1. Just be very careful when measuring the 50:1 as an error wil be almost doubled. Bill Walcott

I bought two of them. One for each place. Paid $70 at Kmart each. Started fairly easily and is powerful. I had foot high grass around my chain link fence in Indy. This knocked it down with no effort at all. Also knocked down an 8 inch diameter maple tree. Powerful little critter. :)

I narrowed it to either Homelite or Stihl until I picked up the phone and talked to the Stihl dealer. I told the lady I only need one!!!

They got a Stihl 15 inch bent shaft for $139.99. It has a Ryobi motor. Forget that!
They got a straigt shaft 15 inch, pure Stihl, for $199.99!!!!! !!!!!

I am just gonna pick up 2 Homelites. One for Indy and one for the farm.

I have the 17" string trimmer, have had it for about 8 or 9 years, good unit, good power to weight ratio.

Homelite saw will be fine for light homeowner use, pruning, cutting up deadfalls, etc. I wouldn't plan on fitting up 10 cords a year of firewood with it tho.

Can't tell from the parts book if you have a clutch...suspect you do not. Remove the shaft from the motor & inspect the flexible cable then check to see if you turn the bottom when you turn the cable.
The cable P/N 98816 is $13.50...be sure to give the exact length if you need to order. I don't believe that model is supposed to run anything but the stringhead if it does not have a clutch like the GST-BC.

Many John Deere afficionados consider Homelite a blemish on the reputation of the otherwise quality-oriented firm. I have a Homelite trimmer which gets very light occasional use, and have had no trouble, though I'm sure it won't last for long. Stihl is far, far superior, but you pay for it.

I don't know about the newer Homelites (& I've loved John Deere ever since my uncle let me ride on his huge JD tractors & combines), but I've been using a Homelite ST-385 since 1991, & have been very pleased with it. I've used the brush blade to cut down heavy brush around a lake numerous times. Only thing negative, it does get a little heavy after a while. The shoulder harness helps.

JD doesn't make Homelite, but they own them, for about 4 or 5 yrs. now. They make their "Green Machine" trimmers at the Homelite factory, and it wouldn't surprise me to see the Homelite name phased out- I have a trimmer and chain saw, so far no trouble getting parts- just don't try to get them at the local JD dealer.

Hi! I'm Bill...
I am a current longtime HOMELITE dealer with an extensive inventory of NEW, N.O.S. & USED parts.
If I get notification early enough, I can often ship same day you pay and Topeka is usually only a day away. Since we are both in Kansas, I do have to charge 5.9% Sales Tax (ugghh).

Shipping is free for parts $50 & over within the lower 48 states & there is a 10% discount $100 & over. I also accept Money Orders, Personal checks have a 10 day shipping delay to allow time for the check to clear. Bill Walcott

Ive never changed the plug or ran the gas out of it over the winter months. It starts on the first or second pull every time. I cant think of anything bad to say about the trimmer. I dont know any thing about the chainsaws though.

I'm looking for the same information. I think I cooked the poor little saw. She only runs for about 15 minutes then the piston seizes until it cools down! Any suggestions as to a fix?

I bought one of your weedeaters at Lowe's two years ago. I have not used it that much and the cable broke three weeks ago. I took it to a lot of places but no one had the part. Then I had a guy go ahead and order the cable that turns the head. But when he got in touch with Homelite they would only sell the complete shaft. There is nothing wrong with the shaft but now I haft to replace it too. The total cost of this is 47.56 in parts 5.00 in shipping and handling 20.0 in labor which comes to 72.56 total and I only payed 85.0 for the weedeater. To me this is bad business first of all you should sell the part that broke and not force them to buy something they do not need. I also think 2 years is not that much time for something this major to happen. I also bought a homelite leafblower and I only hope this holds together. I well tell everyone I know that your product it a bad choice unless they want to buy one every two years. I guess you live and learn I hope you do before you run yourself out of business.
