AL -- Are you Canadian? I believe the Canadian Herbrand Tool Company is still in business. The US Herbrand, originally from Fremont, Ohio, changed ownership in the early 1970's or thereabouts and Herbrand ended up being a part of Triangle Industries tool group as an "economy" line sold through discount stores for those who didn't want to pay the premium prices that Triangle's premium tool line, Bonney, commanded. Eventually the Herbrand name was dropped. A couple of years ago the whole tool division of Triangle Industries was sold to Cooper Group, which then discontinued the entire fixed-wrench-and-socket product line and that's that. If you're looking for warranty service, I think you're left holding a bag; if you want to buy new tools, there are several good alternatives in what was Herbrand's market. John

Herbrand Tools is alive and well. They have their original branch in Toronto at 340 Dufferin Street and have just opened a branch in edmonton at 4103-98 street 780-436-3414. Over the past two years they have been restuctured and are growing - There are approximately 30 distributors currently in Canada with expansion in progress. Thank You for remembering The Herbrand name and watch for them in the future.
