I am looking for information about a weedeater called a Winston-Magnum. I have one nearly new but feel like a part is missing. It is on wheels but lays on the ground when cutting and the string cuts off instantly up cutting anything. Can anyone in here help me?
Thanks
Bill Harris

I bought a "Home Life" Weedeater for US $149.50; It will cost US:$59.50 to buy a new cabuerator because I cannot get a separate gas control unit{which is broken}. That's absolutely ridiculous. I may as well purchase a new weedeater.

I HAVE A " HEIGHT ADAPTER " THAT WILL FIT ON MOST ALL WEEDEATERS. IT REPLACES THE SMALL ADAPTER ON THE BOTTOM OF THE HEAD. OUR ADAPTER IS 2 1/2" TALL AND 4" AROUND. TO KEEP YOU FROM SCALPING THE LAWN. AND NO STRESS ON YOUR ARMS. PUT IT ON THE GROUND AND WEEDEAT. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE OUR ADAPTER CALL : (815) 786- 3069 ASK FOR CRAIG

We bought a Twist'n'edge TE400 weedeater from Walmart last fall, it was a display model so I did not receive any booklets with it. I need to know what kind of string is needed ect. If any body can help I would appreciate it.

1. Do not take the inexpensive route. A good weedeater is a long term investment. Get a commercial grade product.
2. I have been very very happy with the ECHO weedeater and chain saw. They both have been trouble free and most importantly - ALWAY START. A good feature of the ECHO is the ease of putting new line on the spool and that you can use a very heavy weight line. Make this these your requirements regardless of the brand.
3. Expect to pay $180 to $220 for a reasonable commercial grade weed eater.
4. Lastly, make sure you get the long straight shaft instead of the one with the curved end - you will never regret it.

I've been using a Homelite ST 225 for about 7 years semi-comercially. It's been a good one. The new models are about 100.00 at the Walmart Store

I need to cut 10,000 sapling trees down to ground level for a horse pasture. It's back breaking work with clippers. I thought about purchasing the Homelite with saw blade attachment to make short work of it, ha! I have two weeks to get this ready for my horses. Yikes. The model that WalMart carries doesn't have a strap for convenience like other brands, and isn't the heavy duty model. What model do I need to buy for this job that would make it easy to carry. I'm not a big gal. Thanks.

First, "inexpensive" and "durable and long-lasting" are mutually exclusive terms...There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch!

That having been said, I've been happy with my Homelite 185. I keep about 200 feet of ditchbank cleaned with it, and I've been using it about 7 or 8 years now...

Paul, you are right on. People want three things when they buy a product: Best price, best service, and best quality. It is impossible to get all three in any given product. You can never have more than two of them. I have explained this to prospective customers many times and then asked them which of the three they would be willing to give up.

I am in the market to replace a 12 year old Weedeater weedeater. Have you had experience with the Stihl line? I have a farm boss chainsaw that has been fantastic.

I've had a Stihl FS55AVE for appx. 15 years and it's seen its fair share of abuse and has never let me down.

RE: Stihl weedeater. I have owned a Stihl weedeater, model FS 44, straight shaft for 4 years and have been very pleased. It has consistently started year after year and requires only routine maintenance. You will pay a little more for it, but again, it is a wise investment.

I use a Husky 235. It is very ruggeed, but it runs around $400 new. I use it to keep the weeds down under about a mile of electric fence as well as the normal yard stuff.
