Not sure what's going on with the responding to my posts. Maybe I'm being shadow banned by a gov't entity. Lol! Yeah, right.

Anyhow, the insulation board is on the underside of a bay window. I had thought about using expanding foam, but was worried that it might push the insulation board out. Now that I think of it, the floor studs might give me enough space in there to not have to worry about that. So that might work.

Thanks,
Mike

You could have cardboard there and the expanding foam wouldn't push it out. It just takes the shape of what ever cavity is there.

If you get the Window And Door foam, it doesn't expand very much. Fill the cavity, shave it flush and call it good!

Boy, I need to get out more. Didn't know there was such a thing.

Thanks,
Mike

Me being cheap as I am I would fill the hole with that spray foam insulation trim it off then cover with some flat metal and even a tin can laid over it would do the trick. I still remember one of my grand fathers shed being cover with tin cans

I think I'll add the tin can. Years ago there was a mouse that chewed or clawed its way through the foam that was used to patch the hole in the side of the garage where the conduit comes out to the gas pump. Guess The Stuff isn't mouse proof.

I remember my grandfather had used old license plates & a few flattened tin cans to patch up the grainery in the barn. A few of the early ones are hanging up in my garage. Think the earliest one is 1924.

I learned a long time ago if one keeps it simple and cheap many times that works better then spending a lot of $$ to fix things
