I believe it was on this board. A while back someone has mentioned a "paint" to put on battery terminals. They said it would prevent corrosion until the seal was broken. I can not find the post.Does anyone know what this is.

I agree with the post, however a cheeper way is ta clean it up like he sez. BE awful keerful with that wire brush on top of the battery. Don't git not of that biscut raiser IN the battery or you'll be buyin a new one. Then reinstall it and liberally coat the terminals wit wheel bearing grease. It don't hurt ta lay a couple of pennies on the top of the battery. The acid will be attracted ta them. Saves having ta clean them posts so often too.

Bob, This stuff is just called battery anti-corrosion, there are a lot of different brand names. It is available at Walmart, K-mart or any auto parts store, even some grocery stores have it. It comes in a spray can or a tube. Remove your battery and battery cables from the tractor wet the battery box area with water. then sprinkle with baking soda, do this a couple of times. Also wire brush the battery post and cables, sprinkle them with the baking soda and rinse good be sure and get the bottom of the battery. Let everything dry, reinstall the battery and get 2 felt battery washers and place on the battery post, reinstall the battery cables and spray or brush on the anti battery corrosion. You should not have any more problem. Good luck. RG KS

Add a bit of industrial strength detergent to the water-baking soda mix. Apply Prohm-tect to terminals and really improve corrosion prevention and improve conductivity between the cable clamp and the battery post. Go to www.prohm-tect.com and learn more about Prohm-tect, an electrically conductive paste.
