Ford 9n won't start

Converted to a 12V system 2 years ago. Worked great the first year. Last year had problems and had engine overhauled. Near the end of season she wouldn't start. Think problem may be in the distributor or altenator. Points have been checked. When I try to start, points turn bright red. Any ideas?

Check with the boys on the n board they will have all sorts of info for you.
