I am looking at an International Harvester delivery
van and was wondering if anyone knows where I can
find information on this? I believe it is around
the early 1970's. I found a model number on a plate
above the windshield that says "AM 122M 2507013".
Not sure if this is the VIN. Any help would be
appreciated.

I own a 1961 International Harvester Van. It's a great car and did many great things for me. Unfortunately I don't need it any more and I am selling it. If interested please E-Mail me at [email protected] or call me at 323-656-1798. Marc

I live in Fort wayne, Indiana and I have seen a prototype of a IH van. It was at a car lot in 1991 on the courner of Taylor and Freeman. It had stright axels front and rear. Cement floor and wood framed interior. No engine or transmission. This van looked just like a Dodge Tradesman Van in the 1970's. It had an IH grill, dash, and tail lights. The owner of the car lot said it was for sale and I could use it as a trailer. No way could this be made into a trailer. no tounge and no steering and too heavy(with the cement floors and all). This was the story he told me: " This van was a prototype of international Harvesters. The cement floor was so the big shots walking throu it would find it sturdy. International never went into production of this vehicle because they gave it to Dodge." According to the lot's owner a deal was struck with Dodge. IH would stop building light duty pick-ups by the mid 70"s and give them this prototype. In return, Dodge would stop building the heavy duty trucks. While no-one I have talked to has ever heard of this deal, it does make sence. Consider this, The van looks like a DODGE TRADESMAN; International stopped making the full sie pick-up in 1975; and here's the kicker--according to Navistar, the lightest pick-up they can manufacture is a 1 ton beause of an agreement they have with Chrysler. In Springfield, they have a 1 ton truck that can go into production at any time ( the dies are made) but they can not provide a bed with it as t would violate the Chrysler agreement Marv...
