I have a Lincoln motor-generator welder. I want to

change it from 440V to 220V. The tag is good enough to see how to hook motor wires, but not good enough to see how to hook the coil in the contactor. The coil will hum on 220, but not pull in the contacts. There is an extra wire coming from coil, I would like to know whether to switch to that wire or hook them both. I'd appreciate any help from someone with a book or better wiring diagram on welder.

Thanks

Dennis
