I know "Snap On" makes these, But I understand they are fairly expensive.
I would like to know of other manufactures, if any who still makes them.
or if any one out there may want to part with there pair.

For restoring old iron
In advance thanks a "TON"

If you mean "bearing retainer snap ring pliers" that remove the rings you find in most car tranmissions, Sears has them. They are $18.00.
The rings are thick, more than 85% of a circle, and the ends are flat but not parallel. Beware of cheap ones, they twist the ring.

Are you talking about the pliers that have about 7 leverage joints and open only? They are the ones that open the rings without the holes so they have an indent on the outside surface of the the fingers that spread the rings? If so, they are not cheap from anyone if they are any good. They have an increadible amount of force since most of the rings they are used to open are monsters. Try Mac or OCS not too cheap but maybe a little less than Snap-on. You get what you pay for!

First of all thanks And yes these are the pliers without the holes, and do only open etc. so I do believe Jack knows what Im looking for, but the one that I had seen didnt have any adjustment, (one size fits all kind of thing). A cheap tool is not what I want but when I heard that the snap on version amounted to the tune of 60 to 80 bucks, I figured it was time to find a different BAND.
If you know what I mean. On top of that I believe in the, PAY FOR QUALITY AND QUALITY WILL PAY YOU BACK!
That is why CASE machinery runs through my blood.
OHHH. I hope I didnt hit a soft spot!

What I meant was, becareful of any imported tool or even some of the cheaper US ones. They can go away with a painful result. Also, these pliers are only one size fits all. They are made that way because of the enormous rings that they are made to spread. i.e ones found on very large CATs... They also work surprisingly well on smaller ones. Try Mac or MATCO tools, theirs should be a little less.

I'm not sure the difference in the two tools you mentioned, but Harbour Freight Tools sells a set cheap.
