I am a 52 year old female.Love to help my husband in the yard.I am on my 3rd FEATHERLITE PLUS WEEDEATER.After you use it about two months it starts leaking oil behind the motor.I love the weedeater,it is very, very lite, easy to use, easy to start, but the oil leaking everywhere is very disgusting. Please, does somebody out there have any answers,or have you had this same problem?Thank you, waiting for a answer.

The only room for improvement on this type of equipment is to make sure you are using a good quality 2 cycle oil in the proper mix. If you are already doing this, other than periodically removing the muffler and cleaning it out with carb cleaner, you will just have to live with the oil mess.

The featherlite plus is small and easy for a woman to use. Most women will not pay big bucks for tools. And the featherlite did'nt even last
two years before the crank crapped out, thanks to cheap plastic parts. Weedeater has ripped her off.
Its the principal, sell, sell, sell.
Not happy with the featherlite plus!

I just bought one and it lasted about 5 minutes. Won't turn trimmer but engine runs fine. I think I got what I paid for. Cheap tools strike again!

Buy a better weedeater. I own a lawn care business and know lots of other people that cut grass for a living. I've found that the Shindaiwa and Stihl weedeaters are the best you can buy. Sure you are gonna pay a lot more for them but they outlast anything else you could buy. You get what you pay for in this case.

I use 100:1 2 cycle oil from AMSOIL and have no problems with oil leakage and messes. Plus, the oil is far superior to any petroleum 2 stroke. I know the suggested mix ratio is 40:1, the oil manufacturer is responsible for his/her mix ratio's since only they know the performance of their product and warranty it at those ratio's. I use this same 100:1 mix ratio in my Poulan chain saw, Ryobi 790 string trimmer, MTD Snowthrower, and Lawnboy walk behind. You will love the reduced smoke and easier starts too. Spark plugs last 5-6 years as well. I'm on my 7th year on the Ryobi Trimmer's spark plug! My Johnson outboard motor loves it too!

I agree 100% with Josh. When you buy tools pay the extra bucks and you won't have to buy them so often. One $350 weed wacker will outlast ten $100 weed wackers.
