Removed tires and have some badly pitted rims. Also, valve stem area where the hole is supposed to be is greatly enlarged. Should the pits be brazed? Can I use something like J-B Weld? Are there patches available for the valve stem area? Would appreciate your help. Frank.

I'd drill another hole for the valve stem and patch the existing oversize one. Just make sure you get the new one the same distance from the edge. For the pitting, I would remove and stabilize any rust, then give it a couple coats of paint.

The way I would fix the rim is with a wire welder
and a 5/8 washer bent to fit or an 1/8" patch made for the hole.

Big if. My first guess is to replace it. But if you think it is salvagable try and weld a patch for the stem hole. as for the pitting I wouldn't do anything just clean and paint. Good Luck
