Purchased a pressure washer over the weekend and I'm not thrilled with its performance. The 4 hp briggs engine will not run smooth. It races. The the water pressure then pulsates. I thought maybe I did not have enough water from my well, but I filled a 2.5 gal bucket in about 25 seconds and the book said at least 2.5 per min. Any ideas would be welcome.
Thanks

If it has a solution draw hose make sure that's off. especially if there is no solution (soap). sounds like what the other guy said. probably air.

Mine will do that when first hooked up until all the air pockets are out of the hose. Check to make sure you get a solid stream out of the hose you use to supply water to the washer, and then run the sprayer for about a minute. If it clears up and runs steady, then it was air in the hose. If the problem continues, I'd still suspect air getting into the system somewhere. Check all the fittings around the pump to make sure they're tight.
