I have an older Hi-Co rotary mower that came with my 8N. In looking it over this spring, I found the two universal joints on the pto drive shaft are shot. I drove off the caps on one end since the needle bearings were already missing. This took a lot of heavy hammer work (shadetree mechanic, no hydraulic press). My basic question is - can I find replacement parts for the u-joints (are there standard parts?) since it looks like I need to replace everything except the large outer castings. The inner cross-shaped pieces have damage to the bearing race areas and the press-in caps have damage where the bearings dropped out and the axle piece rode on the cap. Experienced info badly needed, any info appreciated. I have a NAPA dealership nearby if they are a good place for parts. Thanks in advance. Chris in VA (Spotsylvania)

Good News! I received an e-mail reply from Michael Keller who runs Walnut Bluff Farm Service in Bogalusa LA (mikellar@bellsouth.net). His company handles HICO systems and parts. I called him and he gave me lots of good info and probably saved me a lot of time and money. I'll be going back to him for parts and info in the future because I've learned the hard way to take care of people who treat you right. Thanks for all who answered. Chris
