I found this big 8 section disc in the weeds? Is it worth fixing?

I just got a farm and don't know much about plowing or disc's or any other farming things. I do know that I could fix it with almost no expense but then what do I do with it since I don't have a plow? And what exactly is it used for? smoothing the soil after plowing?

T: Yes, it's for smoothing after plowing and working down soil and chopping vegetation..... You can do an awful lot with it but what is an eight section disc. Is it a wing disc or what? As for your next post, what grasses, where are you located? What works for us here in Ontario isn't going to work for a guy in Indiana or Texas. What animals are you pasturing and for how long and what are you going to use for supplement etc, etc. Giive us more info on what your doing and you'll get lots of help from this bunch. Good Luck.
