I use an old ferguson 35. Can not figure out what the lever labeled draft does? It doesn't seem to do anything. It is right next to the lever that makes the arms go up and down. it does seem to make the arms go up but only about 3/4 of an inch? is it broke?

The draft lever controls the depth at which a 3 point hitch implement such as a breaking plow goes into the ground. A tractor without draft control is hard to plow with, one has to ride with his hand on the lift control at all times to regulate the plow depth. It works by means of a spring and valve inside the tractor which is connected to the top 3 point hitch connector. More or less pressure on the top arm by the implement causes the valve to raise or lower the implement according to the position you have the draft control lever set. With some exceptions most draft control systems work in this manner. Usually there is an off position for the draft control. I wouldn't worry about it if the lift is going what you want it to do. Hope this helps.

Not familiar with that color, but it generally controls the float and such of your 3-point. I would strongly suggest getting a manual for your tractor, either from Agco or one of the venders here. 'Just moving levers' is a good way to break things, expensive things. Sometimes you need the clutch depressed, sometimes engine off on some of the older machines.

Get a manual.
