I need tools to regrind the valve seats for a 1949 era engine. Exhaust valves especially are too far gone for simple polishing to work. And I dont feel like dismantling completely to send to a shop.

I also recently purchased a '49 cub. I also did not want to remove the block to clean up the valve seats. Fortunately I work for a university that has an automotive program and was able to borrow the proper mandrel and seat grinders to do the job. So far I have only removed one valve and tried it but it works great. Some farmer that has a good set of tools may have what you need or your local community college may have an automotive program with the right size mandrel and grinder.
