I have An Allen Electric Service machine that is used for checking generators and magnetos. It runs on 220 volts and you can can adjust the speed and can change directions for left handed mags. The brushes are wore out and I can't use it . The machine was made in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The brush no.is 2827 Does anyone know where I can find new brushes? Chuck

Mcmaster carr has a good selection, maybe look about their web site. I am not positive, but maybe Ace hdwr has brushes in there little bins in the elec dept. Elec motor shops could get you some, but problem is they want to repair it for you. Ran into a deal like that. Needed a submersible sump pump swx, they didnt have one and "couldnt get one," BUT they said "they could" repair pump for me??

Any good electric motor/starter/alternator shop should be able to get you new brushes just by looking at them. Try to go when no one else is there, and find an older guy willing to take 2 minutes to look it up.
