I like tilt for loading single pieces of eq. but.. since there is a frame for the bed and a sub frame for the tilt, they weigh more and that cutts down on your hauling capacity.

There are some gooseneck trailers out there that are rated to 20000 lbs but that is there gross and when ya take off what the trailer weighs you end up with around 13000 or 14000 payload so it is a littel lite the trailers that most contractors use are rated for 24000 and most are tilt top at least around here. And what ever ya do Don't go with electic brakes use either air or vac over hdy.

Jim,

I've used both, and it's really a matter of personal choice.

I, myself, prefer a tilt bed. I end up loading my Bobcat 3-4 times a day, and those ramps get a little heavy after lifting them up and down each time. On the other hand, If you are good with a hoe you can lift the ramps back up behind you (with the bucket) after you roll onto the trailer.
