I am working with a brass pressure relief valve off of a high pressure sprayer. It has a 3/4" male thread that appears to be the same as standard pipe thread except it is not tapered. It also has a lock nut on these threads. Can anyone tell me what style threads these are, and where would I find a female fitting to fit up to this. A standard pipe fitting will only screw on about 1/2 turn.

Thanks for the help,
Matt

Hey Matt, The fitting that you are talking about is it all brass? Does it have the high pressure hose from the pump going to it? If it does this is probably the unloader valve that sets the pump dump pressure I'll bet when you turn on the pump water shoots out the hole that is open. There is supposed to be a spring inside the body and a cap looking thing that screws on where you are talking about. If this is the case do not plug this off or your pump will crack (cease to exist)Just changed the one at work because the spring broke.

Thanks for the help guys. Scott, your right about what I have, but the fitting I'm talking about is where the high pressure from the pump goes into it. I'm not trying to plug it, but the T that it screwed into broke off, and I'm trying to replace it. The rest appears to be intact. Thanks again for the help,
Matt

The proper term is SAE O-ring thread. See K R Johnson website.

Hi Matt,

Try 3/4 hose threads for garden hose type threads.
