Tractor will not start on it's own. Glow plugs are new and the wire between them gets red hot. The tractor will start with ether and will start all day long after that. But it will not start on it's own. Any help would be appreciated.

Mel, I'm having a similar problem with a Nuffield 460. This does not have Glow plugs though, simply an excess fuel button. We have had problems in the past with air getting into the fuel system and that now seems to be cured, but it still will not start without ether. Then, as you say, once it is going and gets warm all is well. I suspect it is due to a lack of fuel getting through to all the cylinders. I'll let you know if we sort the problem out. Good luck.
