Does anyone have any ideas on how to make a used oil stock tank heater? I saw one advertised a couple years ago. I cant remember where it was. It shouldnt be to hard to biuld one and would be a good way to get rid of my used oil. I should have been doing this before it got down to -10 the last couple of nights. Thanks for any help.

lewis, i made one several years ago and works good. statr with a bunch of 6" x2ft wood stove pipe and a bunch of ells, putt two pipes togewther and then tow ells to form a 180and then two more pipes and then another two ells and so on . ues 3/4" angle and weld on both sides to hold together and bend the ends at a angle to help it not to turn over when you stand it up, you now have your heater make as tall as you want, taller the better, will warm you head to toe, not the burner.. i used first a 3/4" black pipe with a cap and drilled out to mahe my brrner tip, this is to be your starter for the oil....next you use the same set up for your oil line, you will have to play with the orffice hole size to get the right size for the pressure of pump that you use, i build a out side storage tank out of a oil drum on a stand and ran a line to the heater, the pump is mounted at the tank and pulls the oil fron it and supplies the burner at the heater, start the propane burning first and after a few minutes turn the oil pump on and the flame from the propane will inginte the oil spray and wait a few minutes and turn off the propane,,, after you have adjusted and played with the pressure of the oil cominging to the hearer the oil will stay burning,,, what you have do do is have a really high oil pressuer and i found out a very small orffice hole, have to really make a fine spary, try to filter the oil good because trash plugs up the orffice opening. you will have to run the pipe to the outside because this thing does smoke... send me a email and i will send a drawing that will make this a whole lot easier to understand. charles.
