I was referred over here from the 8n board. I need to use a torch that I haven't used since high school. Can somebody refresh my memory on the regulator settings for the oxygen and the acetylene? I am cutting a leaf spring off. Thanks for any help!

The settings will depend on the brand and tip size youre using. What do you have?

Victor, for example, puts out a Oxy-fuel welding, cutting and heating guide. You can probably pick one up at your local dealer or on the web.

Mark is right 5 psi ac and 40 oxy. you Sould not go over over 5 psi on the ac. It dose come unstable. And that came from my weld shop instructor .

#1 rule, keep the acetylene below 15 psi. Without the acetone in the tank, acetylene becomes progressively unstable at higher line pressures.

Myself, I tend to run around 15-20psi oxygen, 5-10psi acetylene.
